Born in Denver but raised in Southern California, Brian was first exposed to fishing as a kid in return trips to Colorado visiting his Grandpa….a Frying Pan River man chasing what he called the “Willow Flies” i.e. Stone Flies.
Brian then received a baseball scholarship to Colorado State University where he met his future wife Tannah, a Grand Junction girl from a hunting and fishing family, which set in place an outdoor lifestyle and now over 20 years fishing in western Colorado. His fishing forays have also taken him all over the Sierras in California, Northern California, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, seven trips to Alaska and saltwater fly fishing in St. John and Belize. His guiding career started in California and now with him and his wife spending summers in Lake City as owners of Lakeview Property Management, he is thrilled to guide for Dan’s Fly Shop. When real life calls the rest of the year, Brian teaches 6th grade in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California in which he enjoys 12 months a year of fishing opportunities along with bird hunting, skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking. When not guiding, you can often find him on the stream with his son Brady, daughter Taylor, or wife Tannah, all skilled fly fishers.
