Meet Mitchell
Howdy! My name is Mitchell Murphy, owner of Dan’s Fly Shop and I am passionate about fly fishing and sharing that passion with others. With over 20 of experience, I have honed my skills and knowledge to provide an unforgettable fishing experience for my clients.
I grew up with a rod in my hands, fishing every chance I could sneak away from my work at the family’s Lake View Lodge and Resort on Lake San Cristobal. This sparked a lifelong love for the art of fly fishing and since then, I’ve explored rivers and lakes across the globe, from the Lake Fork River to the Okavango Delta and in dozens of countries in between. Each trip has deepened my appreciation for nature and the thrill of chasing fish on a fly.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer, I tailor each trip to meet your individual needs. My goal is to ensure you have an enjoyable and educational experience on the water and return to the shop a better angler after every excursion. I always keep a close eye on local fishing conditions to maximize our chances of success and pride myself in taking the time to understand your fishing goals, preferences and experience level to ensure you get the most out of your trip with me.
