Meet Joey
Joey is a fourth-generation Colorado native, who grew up in the southwest Denver area. His love for fly fishing began early—his father handed him a fly rod as a child, sparking a lifelong passion. He and his family took summer trips into the Colorado mountains, mostly in southwestern Colorado. With family roots near Ridgway, these annual visits became a cherished tradition, where fishing alpine lakes and streams was the driving force behind his passion for fly fishing and the San Juan Mountains.
Joey formed an obsession with fishing alpine lakes to find cutthroat trout, and brought that passion to the rivers and creeks in the shoulder seasons. He has fished across the state from the northern front range to the heart of the San Juan Mountains, and countless hidden gems in between. For more than a decade, Lake City has been one of his favorite fly-fishing destinations. Beyond the water, Joey is also very passionate about conifer forests and the native trees that reside in Colorado and across the west.
Whether you are a seasoned angler or you have never touched a fly rod, Joey would love to take you fly fishing and help you grow your fly-fishing knowledge and skills.
