Meet Brian
Brian was first exposed to fly fishing as a kid. Born in Colorado, but growing up in California, these trips back to visit and fish with his Grandpa were the highlight of each summer. A baseball scholarship brought Brian to Colorado State University where he met his eventual wife Tannah, and first fished the Lake City area with her family. A fishing life ensued. Brian loves the adventure of fly fishing, the connection it has to the natural world, and he has a passion for sharing this adventure. As a 20 year 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher and high school basketball coach, teaching is in his blood. His own fly fishing adventures have taken him to most of the famous pilgrimages in the west, all over the Sierra Nevadas, Yellowstone country, Florida,
Louisiana, Maine,11 trips to Alaska, The Bahamas, Belize, Chile, and New Zealand. He has been fishing around Lake City for over 30 years and this will be his 15th summer guiding at Dan’s Fly Shop and the 16th summer he and Tannah have had Lakeview Property Management and Vacation Rentals in Lake City.
